1. स्वामी विवेकानंद एक महान व्यक्ति थे उनका जन्म 12 जनवरी 1863 को कोलकाता में हुआ था ।
2. भारत देश में राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस स्वामी विवेकानंद के जयंती पर मनाया जाता है ।
3. उनका बचपन का नाम नरेन्द नाथ दत्त था, बाद में वे स्वामी विवेकानंद के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए थे ।
4. इनके माता-पिता का नाम भुनेश्वरी देवी तथा पिता का नाम विश्वनाथ दत्त था ।
5. इनके पिता कोलकाता के उच्च न्यायालय में वकील थे ।
6. स्वामी विवेकानंद अपने स्कूल में होशियार विद्यार्थियों में से एक थे । “अध्यात्म-विद्या और भारतीय दर्शन के बिना विश्व अनाथ हो जाएगा’ यह इनका का दृढ़ विश्वास था ।
7. स्वामी विवेकानंद को धर्म और आध्यात्मिक क्षेत्र में काफी रूचि थी ।
8. स्वामी विवेकानंद 1 मई 1897 में रामकृष्ण मिशन की शुरुआत की थी इन्होंने पैदल ही पूरे भारत देश की यात्रा की थी।
9. “उठो, जागो और तब तक मत रुको जब तक तुम लक्ष्य की प्राप्ति न करो” ऐसा उनका कहना हुआ करता था ।
10. स्वामी विवेकानंद की मृत्यु 4 जुलाई 1902 को हुई थी ।
